Andrew Wade

NextGen Pastor

How I came into a relationship with Jesus Christ?
As the son of a pastor, I spent lots of time in and around the church growing up. Most of my friendships and social activities were connected to the church. After seeing my older brother choose to follow Christ and get baptized, I told my mother I wanted to be a Christian. Because I was so young, she went through a little booklet called “The Good News Glove” with me to make sure I understood what I was doing. That morning, I prayed to invite Jesus into my heart. I’ve had lots of ups and downs since that time, but I have assurance of salvation in Christ alone and I know he has sustained me through it all.
How I came to CDO Bible Church
After living in Arizona for a few years, our family felt that God might be leading us to find a new church home. In the summer of 2019, my wife found CDOBC on Google and took the kids with her for a visit. She came home that Sunday bursting with excitement because of the worship experience and warm welcome she received. We all went back the following Sunday, and it’s been our church home ever since.
What I do at CDO Bible Church
I started out as a volunteer in a few different ministries before I was asked to serve on the board of elders. In 2025 the church called me to become the NextGen Pastor, serving all God’s people involved in our children’s, youth and young adult ministries.
Why I do what I do?
My family is vitally important to me, and I have a heart for supporting and encouraging families. Adults are generally more self-sufficient and better able to learn and grow independently, but our children and youth require training and discipleship from more mature believers to succeed in their walk with Christ. Investing in and building up our young people is a vital part of preparing the church for the next generation.
