WOMEN’S COMMUNITY

The purpose of Women’s Community at CDOBC is to connect women at Canyon Del Oro Bible Church and the surrounding community to Jesus, The Church, and each other for the purpose of equipping, encouraging and evangelizing.

We desire to see true community and fellowship among the women of the church and to connect with other women in the community through activities that are fun and point to Jesus.

Current Events

Join us for a time of fun and fellowship, with special guest speaker and singer, Deborah Gryniewicz. This year’s theme is Heirlooms, and we ask that you please bring an object or picture that reminds you of a person who left a legacy of love and faithfulness in your life. We will be sharing the stories behind these items during the event. Register Here.

Current Bible Studies

Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in rooms 3 & 4 beginning February 6 led by Beth Kolbuss. Abraham is known as the “father of Israel” because God appeared to him and promised that his descendants would become a great nation. Yet Abraham is much more than the patriarch of a select group of ancient people. Through Abraham’s descendants, God’s own Son, Jesus, was born. It’s through Abraham that God blessed all people.

In this study, pastor John MacArthur will guide you through an in-depth look at the historical period beginning with Abraham’s call from God, continuing through his relocation in the land of Canaan, and concluding with the story of his grandsons Jacob and Esau.

Tuesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. in rooms 1 & 2 beginning February 6 led by Donna Mann. The opening lines and chapters of Genesis teach us fundamental truths about God. We watch Him bring light after darkness, order after chaos, and rest after toil—all through the power of His Word. Over 10 sessions of verse-by-verse study, dive into the first 11 chapters of Genesis by following three critical stages of understanding: comprehension, interpretation, and application. Teaching videos are key in understanding this study. Revisit familiar stories and historical figures, challenge your basic knowledge, and discover deeper meanings in the text. As God reveals Himself through Scripture, we can only begin to understand ourselves when we first glimpse the character, attributes, and promises of our Creator.

Tuesday mornings at 9:30 a.m. in rooms 1 & 2 from April 9 – May 7, led by VJ Vonk. One of the greatest challenges among women in our culture is taking time to stop and cease from all the activities and busyness and just breathe. It is time for us to build margin into our lives for God. If you are weary, worn out, and exhausted; the concept of Sabbath will change your life.

Connect with God and other moms as we study God’s Word together on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Childcare will be available. January 17 – April 17

This session is “Mom Struggles” from Gather Moms
The years of motherhood are paved with both tears of triumph and struggle. Our hearts and minds are tangled up in learning to love ourselves and the children God gifted us. We know who we were before kids, but who are we now? Oftentimes we find ourselves overwhelmed, lonely, and lost. Our struggles are common to all moms, and each season of motherhood holds new opportunities and challenges. This twelve-session series from Gather Moms seeks to express the things you’re feeling so that you know you are not alone. There is joy and victory in surrendering our struggles to Jesus and asking him for the power to keep going.
