CDOBC ‘YOUNG AT HEART’ SENIORS MINISTRY

Mission Statement: To minister to seniors through Christian fellowship, education, and enrichment. And to provide opportunities to invite guests.

FELLOWSHIP: Our Senior Ministry enjoys getting together for events and outings. They enjoy meals together. They may see a play or a movie or take a day trip out of the city. Our seniors are encouraged to invite others (of any age) to join us for these events and outings.

THE BARNABAS BUNCH: Provides support to our church family who cannot participate in the activities or worship services at CDOBC on a regular basis due to health concerns.

March 14: Join us for the next Senior Ministry Luncheon “Spring has Sprung” on Friday, March 14, at 11:30 a.m. in Chapel Hall. Golder Ranch Fire District Community Education Supervisor Dan Habinek and Fire Fighter Danielle Walker will host an interactive, informational session regarding community updates and services provided for residents. Topics to be discussed include File of Life, Residential Lock Boxes, EMS Membership Program, General Safety Information, Winter Heating Tips, Close the Door, Smoke Detectors, District Information, Q & A Session and more!  Cost for this luncheon is $10/person. March 22: The Senior Ministry will be headed to The Duttons Experience in Mesa, AZ for a 2:00 p.m. show, then out to dinner in the PHX area after. Tickets for the show are $25/person plus the cost of dinner. It is sure to be a fun afternoon and evening! RSVP RSVP Here by March 6

April 11: We will be touring St Anthony’s Monastery at 10:30 a.m. and then enjoy lunch in Florence at Your Behind BBQ Birds and Bones. Since its humble beginnings, St. Anthony’s has become the largest Orthodox monastery in the Western Hemisphere. Once the basic structures of the monastery had been built, the landscaping progressed, citrus and olive trees were planted, a vineyard was planted, and other chapels were constructed. With its many chapels and its elaborate system of gardens and pathways, the monastery is truly an oasis in the desert. RSVP Here by April 8

May 9: Senior Ministry Fellowship Luncheon – International.

June 18: Mt. Lemmon Picnic and Play!

June 22: Gaslight Music Hall for Peter, Paul, and Mary. This show will be at 6:00 p.m. and cost $23/person.

August 22: A visit to Ignite Museum and lunch out.

September 12: Senior Ministry Luncheon – Africa.

November 14: A Visit to Rooster Cogburn Ostrich ranch in Picacho Peak, lunch out after.

December 12: Senior Ministry Luncheon – Toyland.
