SMALL GROUPS

Canyon Del Oro Bible Church has declared its mission of reaching people for Christ and helping them grow in their faith. How do small groups fit into that? Small groups provide a setting for believers to grow in Christ, build community, and encourage one another. Need help finding a group? See the categories below or take a Small Groups Assessment to help you find the right fit!

Talk Groups are groups where you learn in a discussion format. It is a group that allows each person to grow by talking things out and hearing multiple voices speak on the subject. We have Talk Groups on campus and in homes with online classes coming soon.

Listen Groups are groups that are primarily structured like a lecture with a single teacher/instructor discussing a topic or book from the Bible. This would look the most like a traditional Sunday School. There are Listen Groups on campus, in homes, and online.

Do Groups are groups that are built around a common activity or interest. Many of these groups allow for people to meet up to enjoy a hobby together while still enjoying a discussion or devotion. It allows you to enjoy your passions as you are building a relationship with Jesus and fellow Christians. Currently, all our Do Groups meet on campus.

Care Groups are our newest designation of groups. These groups all focus around a life circumstance that you really need support from Scripture and Community. If you are dealing with Grief, Divorce, Addiction, or Mental Health, these groups, and more to come, want to come alongside you and offer support. We have teamed up with national resources to help us as we roll out more local chapters.

Our desire is for every person who attends CDOBC to Connect and Grow…

  • All believers should grow in Christ. That means they increase in their knowledge and understanding of God and become more like Christ in their own life.
  • We also want the members of our church to make connections with other Christians and build community. Community is living life together; sharing in each other’s joys, hurts, hopes, and accomplishments. Community goes beyond the surface level to the deep relationships with other believers that we all need and long for.
  • Finally, living out our Christian life requires encouragement from other believers that know us and can speak to our hearts, people we trust. In small groups we can encourage each other as we grow in our faith, seek ways to serve the church body, and reach out to the lost with the Gospel message of salvation in Christ.
